Diabetes Care & Education

UCVH is proud to offer a Diabetes Education Program recognized by the American Diabetes Association. Whether you have been managing your diabetes for years or are newly diagnosed, the Program has something to offer.

Educational Offerings for:

Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes – initial education & yearly follow-up
Gestational Diabetes
Medication Start-ups
Insulin Pump & Continuous Glucose Monitoring

Program education is provided by a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist/Registered Nurse and a Registered Dietitian with Diabetes specific training. An Advisory Council made up of medical professionals and community members oversee the Program. In 2021, the Program expanded to NCH Week’s Medical Center.
